Hi everyone!

Sorry about some shortened practices lately. The kids have been learning the scenes faster than we anticipated and this is resulting in shortened practices for some groups. We as directors are still practicing until 5 with smaller groups that may still need some work. We will try to be better about sending out word via instagram and this blog when we have advanced notice. Last Friday there was a lot of kiddos using the office phone and it stopped working. It is now fixed and the below is an email from Principal Cooper about it.

Students are always welcome to stay until 5 in the auditorium with the directors if that helps parents. They are also welcome to use our phones to call home if needed.
Thank you for your continued support.
Oh my, I am so sorry for the confusion and misunderstanding. Yes, students can use the phone if practice ends super early. Last Friday we had so many students using the phone to call for parents to bring them a snack, or to arrange play dates, etc., and goofing around with the phone that something happened and the phone quit working. We did get it fixed and I know it was working before I left today. We did tell students that they cannot use the phone to call for snacks or arrange play dates. Those things needed to be arranged before they came to school. The parent volunteers will also allow the students to use their cell phones to call home if the office phone is unavailable and office staff have left for the night, I am sure.

I was not at the office when practice let out tonight, I was in a meeting and the secretaries had all left for the day.

I have cc’d our play directors to this email and am asking them to please email parents if practice will be cut short so that parents are informed ahead of time.

Thank you,
Teri Ann Cooper

Costume Info

Here are some of the costuming details for Mary Poppins. In most cases, costumes can be pulled together from items you have at home or that you can borrow from friends and family. You may need to purchase a few items (Savers and DI are great for this!). In some cases, we will be purchasing some coordinating items to use in addition to what you put together at home.  Many performers are in several scenes and may need different costumes. Please try to ask around for pieces so you don’t spend a lot! We appreciate your kids and are grateful for their hard work. We try to get each child on stage 3 times during our shows and in this show that may mean a costume change. Thank you for your help in this.
Steph has created a pinterest board that may be helpful to some as you are putting together costumes.  (You can find it here: https://www.pinterest.com/ajstrasser8/mary-poppins-jr-costumes/ ).
If you do not find details for your costume here Stephanie will be contacting you separately with information.
